Best Time to Visit Italy

Most of Italy experiences a Mediterranean climate which is quite comfortable, but can be very cool in winter. The northern regions of the Alps experience very cold winters. The summer months of June – August are the driest and the hottest. Spring and fall are probably the best times to visit Italy, not only for the weather, but also to avoid the summer tourists.

Italy – Visa Requirements

Italy participates in the Schengen Zone and Schengen Visa requirements. There are no border inspections by rail or vehicle when traveling from Italy to France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Some countries that are not members of the Schengen Zone require a Schengen Visa to enter Europe. Exemptions include citizens of Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Check your specific country at VisaHQ. For a list of exempt countries, visit Project Visa.

Italy – Currency

Italy uses the Euro as its currency, just like quite a few other countries in Europe. The only country bordering Italy that doesn’t use the Euro is Switzerland.

Visit Italy – Electrical Adapters

The Europlug Type C electrical adapter is what you will need to keep your phones and cameras charged when you Visit Italy. Your electrical adapter for Italy will work in most European countries.

Uber Black in Italy

Uber has effectively been blocked from service in Italy. They are only allowed to operate Uber Black, which means you are ordering a town car. That puts the price up so that they aren’t competitive with locals cabs.
