Best Time of Year to Visit the United Kingdom

The climate of the UK is moderated by the Atlantic Ocean. Rainfall is quite common throughout the year, giving the British Isles the deserved reputation of being cool, cloudy and damp. July and August are most likely the best time of year to Visit the United Kingdom.

The best known members of the United Kingdom are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, but many other small territories are part of the United Kingdom too. Among the territories that belong to the UK are Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Falkland Islands, Pitcairn Islands and Turks & Caicos.

UK Visitor ETA

Visitors to the United Kingdom are now required to complete an Electronic Travel Authorisation ETA. An ETA costs £16 and permits multiple journeys to the UK for stays of up to six months at a time over two years or until the holder’s passport expires – whichever is sooner.

United Kingdom – Visa Requirements

Many countries are exempt from travel visa requirements to the United Kingdom. Those citizens who do require a visa can complete the application and pay the fee online at the UK’s web site.

United Kingdom – Currency

The United Kingdom does not participate in the use of the Euro. The official currency is the British pound sterling (GBP).  Visitors will find a strong reluctance to accept any other currency.

Electrical Adapters for the United Kingdom
