Mahé is the largest island in the Seychelles Islands. The International Airport and the capital city of Victoria are located on Mahé.

  • Visit one of the magnificent, uncrowded beaches.  Hang out with the locals in Beau Vallon Beach in the north of Mahé and watch the sunset over Silhouette Island.  The Anse Major beach is accessible only by foot, in the northwest of Mahé.  Anse Major has excellent snorkeling.  Anse Royale Beach in the southeast is popular for its clear blue waters.
  • Create your own walking tour of Victoria.  Visit the Botanical Gardens, the Victoria Market and the Natural History Museum.  Also visit Kenwyn House , which is a restored colonial home with a jewelery shop and gallery.  See the Victoria Clocktower – a miniature replica of Big Ben in Victoria.
  • Drive the North Coast loop.
  • Morne Seychellois National Park – Take San Soucis Rd in the early morning for great views.  See the Jardin du Roi and Copolia Peak.
  • Mission Lodge Lookout.
  • Diving.
  • Sport fishing.
  • Take a day trip to Aride Island.  There are numerous bird species on this uninhabited island that was donated to the public by Christopher Cadbury (Cadbury’s Chocolates).

La Digue is the least developed and smallest of the three major inner islands of the Seychelles Islands.  There are very few vehicles on La Digue, because it’s small enough to walk everywhere.

  • Anse Source d’Argent – a common picture postcard for the Seychelles and often rated the most beautiful beach in the world.
  • Union Estate Park – includes a colonial style plantation home converted to a museum, the huge granite boulders called Union Boulders, Seychelles Giant Tortoises and a horse paddock.  The park covers about 1/3 of the island.
  • Nid Aigle – viewpoint overlooking the island.
  • Visit the Veuve Reserve to see the rare Paradise Flycatchers.
  • Take an ox cart tour of the island or bicycle around it.
  • More great beaches – Anse Pierrot, Anse Severe Anse Cocos Beach, Spiagge di Anse Marron and Grand Anse.
  • Snorkeling trips to Ile de Cocos, Felicite Island, Sister Island and Marianne.
